Open Letter: Dear Divyanka, Where Is The Line Between Public And Private?
Updated : July 16, 2016 07:10 PM ISTDivyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya’s wedding was one of the great grand weddings that the media covered extensively. The actress, who is known for the humble and nice character she plays in the popular daily soap Yeh Hain Mohabbatein, had married her boyfriend and co-star Vivek Dahiya just a few weeks back. Fans were all happy for the two!
Every little detail of the wedding is being covered, and it has been trending on social media for a week.
You will now ask me who I am and why am I saying all this? Legit question. I am one of those #NewsMakers who covered this wedding. Right from the pre wedding photoshoot to her haldi, mehendi and all the other stuff that was being dished out by the wedding story and her fan clubs. Now let me tell you something. It’s a viscious cycle. You would ask why did you have to cover every little nitty gritty of her wedding?
The crucial question now- is she more important or the media? Well, firstly, it is media that helps a star grow. No doubt that you make fans through your acting skills. But then, you are made a star from an actor because media constantly reports about you and takes you closer to the larger masses.
Dear Divyanka Tripathi. I get it that you are a star in your own right. But the fact that since we gave coverage to your so called ‘private’ wedding that some more people know you now!
I am writing in response to the letter that you have posted on your instagram handle. Let’s see what you had to say about us newsmaker!
Oh my my! So we should really stop everything. So much “unwanted” attention that you are getting. Then why did you allow so many media channels to cover your wedding?
You never wanted to share private details, you’ve said. But what do you define as private? We have seen you revealing all the little details about all the wedding functions, from haldi to sangeet to the wedding itself! We saw how you posed, showed your mehendi to us!
And dear please. What masala can be derieved from the pictures of your house? Masala, seriously?
Plus we would have been really happy had you just engaged in a little less narcissism! You deserve over attention? Really? Did you see posts that read something like: Who the Fuck is Divyanka Tripathi.
My dear Divyanka. Good that you got married and are happy. But don’t be so arrogant as to post stuff like this. You never know when you would need newsmakers to help you out you know! It’s for love and out of love that we give you coverage. Don’t lose out on that.
Thanks,
Newsmakers.
