WATCH: Saavi Trailer Shows What Happens When A Child Becomes A Groom To A Grown Up Woman!

Well, there has been so many freak customs that have been prevalant throughout the world. One such custom that still exists is child marriage. While everyone has been trying to fight it off and eliminate it from the society, it still continues to exist in most part of the world.

When we talk of child marriage, we generally think of a young girl being married off to a much older man. However, the reverse case scenario, where a young boy is married of to a much older woman is also a reality. While this may spark debate , there have been incidents of such cases.

Ek Anokhi Dulhan Saavi lookjs into one such case. Directed by National Award winning Rajeev Kumar, the film explores the life of Saavi who has been married of to a biy fit enough to be her child. She cannot stand up against the customs and therefore, more than having a husband-wife relationship, raises him up like a son. Even the boy grows up to think that Saavi is his mother. It is only when he reveals that he is in love with a woman and wants to marry him, that the entire village tells him that he is already married to Saavi.

The trailer looks interesting and it seems like the film will explore the pain that Saavi is going through! The handling of the subject looks sensitive and nuanced!
