In a year of several anticipated films, Salman Khan's Sultan is the most looked forward to.

The film, which tells the story of an aging wrestler who reinvents himself to find redemption, is all set to release and the buzz is palpable. 

Yes, Salman Khan has come under a lot of scutiny in the past few days for making a certain comment. And frankly, the criticism is justified.

But nothing will stop Sultan from becoming the biggest hit of the the year, or at the very least break a few records. The reasons are simple, really.

Number One: Long Festival Weekend

It has been known for quite a while that Salman Khan's Sultan will release on the festival of Eid. But today it was offically announced that it will open on 6^th July. Let's analyse that for a second.

July 6^th is a Wednesday, which means that the film will have a five-day weekend, instead of a three-day weekend that most films get. This only means more people will be willing to see the film, more tickets will be purchased and more records will be broken.

Number Two: It Does Look Good

Yes, the film has Salman Khan which is enough of a reason to be a hit. But the film honestly looks good–and Salman looks good in it. Also, Anushka Sharma and Randeep Hooda seem promising in their roles. Top that off with a catchy soundtrack and you have a wholesome entertainment movie that just can't fail.

Number Three: Shah Rukh’s Risk Will Be Salman Khan’s Gain

For years, people who have been following Shah Rukh Khan have been urging him to do more experimental films and not just chase box-office records. And the SRK listened. Fan, which released this year, was nothing like the star has ever done and he was rightfully praised for it. But since it wasn't a straight-up masala film, it didn't earn as much as Shah Rukh Khan films normally do. It ended up minting ₹85 crore domestically, which is low considering the star attached to it.

This means there hasn't been 2016 has been without a real record-breaking movie. And Salman Khan's Sultan will surely benefit from that fact.

Number Four: Unbelievable Track Record

We all know Salman Khan has a fan-following like no other. We all hear that he's the reigning king of Bollywood. So what does it exactly mean? 

For one thing, the last nine movies that Salman Khan, none of them have grossed less than ₹100 crore domestically. That's NINE! On the basis of recent track record, a Salman Khan movie makes ₹166 crore on average -- which means these nine Salman Khan's films have earned ₹1500 crore in India alone!
