Here's How To Watch Anurag Kashyap's Most Controversial Unreleased Film

Anurag Kashyap is known to offend people – by people, we mean Censor Board – with the nature of films.
Such has been the filmmaker's relationship with the CBFC that nearly every film of his gets in trouble before its release. From being asked to remove parts (Gangs of Wasseypur, Udta Punjab)of the film to delaying the film's release (Black Friday), he has faced every possible injustice that an artist of his breed can face.
This was until we found out that there is one film which still hasn't made its way to theatres!

The film: Paanch
The crime thriller, based on based on the 1976-77 Joshi-Abhyankar serial murders in Pune, is a story about 5 band members who get involved in drugs, robbery and murder. The film was due to release in 2001.
The Cast
Kay Kay Menon is the most recognisable face from the film. Also present is Aditya Srivastava who is widely know for his role in long-running series CID.
The reason Censor Board gave.
The Censor Board though that the film's violence, the depiction of drug abuse and bad language was unacceptable. Therefore, it ordered several cuts to the film which Anurag Kashyap wasn't willing to adhere to.
Where can you watch it?
The 2 crore film hasn't been released on DVD. However, in 2010, the film surfaced on the internet. Though, it's not as easily available as it was back then, but it still can be found if you look.
So, wait. Isn't piracy wrong?
Yes, it is. But that is for the films that are going to get released. Anurag Kashyap himself has encouraged viewers to watch the film online.
What does the critics say?
Those who have watched it say the film, while not as brilliant as Anurag Kashyap's best films, showed flashes of filmmaker's talent. Praise has also been given to film's bold nature and the strenghth of its performances.
