Tubelight's First Day Collections Prove That Nobody Can Match Salman Khan's Stardom!

Salman Khan's much awaited Eid release, Tubelight finally released yesterday. The film, directed by Kabir Khan who has previously worked with the superstar in blockbusters such as Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, opened to mixed reviews.
While majority of the critics slammed the film calling it Salman's weakest film and performance in years, there were some section of the audiences who appreciated it for the emotional quotient.
Salman Khan's previous outing, Sultan which released in July last year was another of his Eid blockbuster and naturally, the expectations from Tubelight were high. Despite all the negative reviews, comparitively less hype and low key promotions, the film managed to gross a good 21.15 cr on the opening day.

While the film marks Khan's lowest Eid opener yet, it's ironically the second highest opener of the year after Baahubali, racing ahead of Raees by a margin which opened at 20.42 cr.

It's also interesting to note that Friday was a non-holiday day and with Eid falling on Monday, the film can easily enjoy a good extended weekend. And while we wait to see see how it performs over the weekend, one thing's for sure that no matter what or how the film is, Salman Khan ka naam hi kaafi hai to guarantee a good opening!
