We all know what pregnancy did to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and now it is Vidya Balan. After the debacle of Shaadi Ke Side Effects, actress Vidya Balan is apparently missing from the B-town. Reason? She is pregnant. We take a look at what the buzz has to say...
Last spotted
There was time when a Vidya Balan movie meant a must-watch. Now she is just going through Shaadi Ke Side Effects. The 36-year-old actress, who married UTV’s head honcho Sidharth Roy Kapur in 2012, was last spotted in a sari at a press meet for Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. Of late, she has been spotted wearing loose clothes. Clearly, she has been hiding something.
Media reports
Throughout the promotions of her film Shaadi Ke Side Effects, Vidya tactfully avoided questions surrounding her pregnancy. She even told media that she isn't pregnant. However, nobody wants to believe her. Why should they? Vidya’s frequent visits to doctors raised quite a few eyebrows.
Latest buzz
But the latest is that Balan has opted out of both the films she had in her kitty - Sujoy Ghosh's next co-starring Irrfan Khan and Mohit Suri's Hamari Adhuri Kahani with Emraan Hashmi and Rajkummar Rao. Why would she do that?!
The truth is
She has had two releases after marriage: Ghanchakkar and Shaadi ke Side Effects. They both have flopped. She has offers rolling in and even had a couple of films on hand but her filmy future seems uncertain, especially if she has a baby in a couple of years. And if our sources to be believed, she is indeed pregnant and that is such a good news.
Maternity break
It will take at least 2-3 years before Vidya decides to get back to work. Because she will take a while to shed the baby weight and the baby has to be at least a year old before she leaves her house. Having said that, it will be at least two-three years before she makes another movie. Her next release is Bobby Jasoos.
Her next public appearance
Balan, who is currently enjoying a break in US, will be launching this year's Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) on May 1 and her presence is confirmed. Perhaps that's when Vidya will confirm her pregnancy!
