5 Bollywood Actors Who Won The National Award But Didn't Really Deserve It

Say what you will about the Indian awarding process when it comes to film, few will vociferously argue that National Awards are not worth it. Touted as India's Oscars and the highest honours that any professional in the cinematic field can get. For those reasons, it is also one of the hardest achievements there is.
But having said that, National Awards, like Oscars, is not always fair. Many a time, actors or films who deserve the Awards, don't really get it. And conversely is true too. As some actors and films who have been awarded this top honour, don't really deserve it.
Here are a few examples:
Karisma Kapoor (Dil To Pagal Hai)
Yes, the actress won the National Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Dil To Pagal Hai. Let that sink in.
Priyanka Chopra (Fashion)
We agree that Priyanka was good in Fashion but was she really that good that she got a National Award? We are not sure.
Saif Ali Khan (Hum Tum)
One of the biggest shockers in National Award History came in 2004 when Saif Ali Khan won the National Award for Best Actor. It is also worth pointing out that his mother Sharmila Tagore was a part of the selection process. Also, it was the same year Shah Rukh Khan gave a stellar performance in Swades.
Parineeti Chopra (Ishaqzaade)
Yes, Parineeti Chopra was really impressive in her debut film Ishaqzaade. But it is still a little excessive that she won the Special Mention National Award.
Aamir Khan (Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Raakh)
Aamir Khan has done a lot of exemplary things in his career and has been rightly rewarded for it. And believe us, both Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Raakh are good films in which Aamir Khan delivered good performances. But did he deserve the biggest cinematic honour in the country in 1989? Probably not.
