Box Office: Pink Set To Reach A Milestone, Banjo Has A Tough Task

After last week’s prominent release Pink made way for a wonderful box office run, it looks the film is in no mood slow itself down in the second week as well. The Amitabh Bachchan starrer is pretty close to touching the 50 crore mark which in itself a big victory for this low budget movie. On the other hand, Riteish Deshmukh’s musical drama Banjo couldn’t really take off on a positive note and has a tough ask to fulfill.

While Pink ended its first week figure close to 35 crores, it accelerated will on its second Friday and further on Saturday. The film collected a magnificent 5.49 crores on Saturday and increased its tally up at 44.55 crores. The film is likely to cross the 50 crore mark this today and look to earn a super hit verdict.

While on a dismal note, Riteish Deshmukh’s Banjo couldn’t register any opening and put up a mere 1.72 crores on its opening day. The film showed slight growth on Saturday and added 1.95 crores to bring its tally up at 3.67 crores. Though it has largely fared well in terms of word of mouth, the acceleration is still dependent on a lot of factors. With Pink dominating the business this week as well, let’s see what’s kept in store next.

The female oriented film Parched that also released this week was pretty low. While it already had a very limited release, it could only garner a total of 34 lakhs.
