2.0 (Hindi) Is Akshay Kumar's Fastest Century, As The Film Entered The 100 Crore Club In Just 5 days

2.0 [Hindi] has already entered the 100 Crore Club. When the film opened at 20.25 crore and then slightly dipped to 18 crore on the second day, there was a bit of discomfort that set in. Though no one was debating whether the film would hit a century or not, it was the growth over Saturday and Sunday that was set to be the deciding factor around how quick would that happen.

Well, the scenario pretty much changed after the weekend came to a close as both Saturday as well as Sunday saw very good jumps at the Box Office. Result, the film went way past the 90 crore mark after the extended weekend and on Monday it entered the 100 Crore Club. With the feat being accomplished in just 5 days, this is the first time ever that an Akshay Kumar starrer has managed such a response at the Box Office.

2.0 [Hindi] is now also the 10th century for Akshay Kumar, and the only superstar with more number of 100 crore films under his belt is Salman Khan [13 centuries].

Meanwhile, let's take a look at the number of days that Akshay Kumar films have taken to enter the 100 Crore Club:

2.0 [Hindi] - 5 days

Toilet - Ek Prem Katha - 8 days

As can be seen, 2.0 [Hindi] has went past Toilet - Ek Prem Katha by a margin of 3 days. Incidentally, that film is also his highest grosser till date [134.22 crore] though rest assured that record would be broken too by 2.0 [Hindi] in a few days from now.

Incidentally, Akshay Kumar's last release Gold (which released earlier this year) holds the record for being Akshay Kumar's biggest opener till date. On its Independence Day release, the film had netted 25.25 crore. However, it couldn't sustain momentum and eventually took 15 days before it managed to enter the 100 Crore Club.

The maximum time taken by an Akshay Kumar starrer to hit a century is Housefull 2. That film took an opening of 13.7 crore but then took 17 days to enter the 100 Crore Club.

The next big milestone for 2.0 [Hindi] would be to go past the lifetime numbers of Toilet - Ek Prem Katha. One now waits to see in how many days does the film achieve this feat. That said, the manner in which the Shankar directed film is currently doing in the Hindi version, it won't be surprising if this milestone is achieved in the extended first week of 8 days itself.
