When we talk about films and profit, 100 crores is generally considered the benchmark of success. With more and more 100 crores movies being made, the budget of films now has also been raised. There are so many movies, like ‘Tubelight’ for example, that had managed to gross more than 100 crores at the box office but are flops.

Needless to say, the benchmark for humongous success has now got manifold higher. Today we have something called the 1000 crore club, and films are actually heading towards this huge figure.

While there have been only two Indian films that have reached this mark, the adjusted gross for many films will actually touch the mark. It means that there are films that released long back and made a lot of money at the box-office, the equivalent to which today would be some 1000 crores. Let us have a look at the films that have an adjusted nett collection of 1000 crores:

1. Dangal

Dangal is the highest grossing Indian film of all times. In fact, it is the fifth highest grossing non-English film in the world. Needless to say, it has an unimaginable collection of almost 2000 crores. It made 1,995 crore worldwide. The growth in its collection was spurred after it was released in China!

2. Baahubali: The Conclusion

Yes, this is not a Bollywood film but was loved by one and all over the nation. It collected almost 100 crores on the first day itself all over India! Needless to say, it quickly rolled to 1000 crores in a matter of some weeks. It was also the highest grossing Indian film for sometime before Dangal overtook it. Its total collection is 1708 crores worldwide.

3. Mughal-E-Azam

This film has a quality that makes it an interesting watch even today. No matter how many times you have already watched it, it will still give you goose bumps. The film had been restored and a digitally colored version of the film was also released. The film was released in 1960 and has a total collection of 11 crores! The adjusted nett for the film is 1,782 crore (higher than that of Baahubali: The Conclusion)!

4. Gunga Jumna

The Dilip Kumar- Vyjayanthimala movie is considered as one of the best films of Indian cinema. It released back in 1961 and it has grossed 11. 27 crores, with some 4 crores overseas itself. The adjusted nett for the film is 1520 crores.

5. Disco Dancer

The Mithun Chakravarty film released in 1982. While the film did a decent business in India, grossing some 6 crores, it did a massive business overseas. It collected approx 94 crores! The total collection of the film is 100.7 crores and the adjusted net is 1,261 crores.

6.  Bobby

The 1973 film starring Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia had collected 31 crores. The adjusted nett for the film is 1,231 crore.

7. Sholay

The Veeru-Jay’s tale of friendship is immortal in the hearts of the Indians.While the overseas collection for the film is not known, the 1975 film made some 35 crores in India through the years. The adjusted nett for the film is 1,060 crore.
