Box Office: Golmaal Again Is Making It Tough For Secret Superstar To Gain Pace

Diwali 2017 has been one rare occasion to have produced two loved movies at the box office. With both the two major releases being accepted by the audience, the competition heated right when Golmaal Again hit the screens on Friday. While Aamir Khan production’s Secret Superstar was received to tremendous word of mouth, Golmaal Again (believe it or not) severely dented its prospects to fly big.

Yes, after having opened to a massive 30.14 crores on Friday, the fourth instalment of the blockbuster franchise minted collections in the similar range on Saturday and Sunday as well. When it came to passing the crucial Monday test, it was the Rohit Shetty directorial that gave Secret Superstar a beating. Yes, while Golmaal Again garnered a massive 16.04 crores on Monday, Secret Superstar went through its first drop and collected a mere 3.05 crores.

Going by this trend, it is clear that Golmaal Again is not letting Secret Superstar spread its wings and really accelerate. While most multiplexes have already increased the shows frequency for Golmaal, the divide between the collections is quite huge. Despite Secret Superstar winning a positive word of mouth from all across, the film is undeniably not growing at the pace it should have. No prizes for guessing, it is because audiences are queueing up in large numbers for the comedy.

Meanwhile Golmaal Again also entered the 100 crore mark on Monday achieving this feat in just four days. With this the film has become the fastest Bollywood film this year to enter the coveted mark. On the other hand, the Aamir-Zaira starrer is currently at 34 crores. Released on last Thursday, the film should have ideally gone past the 50 crore mark in the first seven days. However with this trend, it looks quite tough.

Whatever be the box office scenario, team Rohit Shetty is really giving team Aamir a hard time at the box office.
