Updated : December 14, 2019 01:33 PM ISTMardaani 2 had shaken our core and made the hair on our body stand with its trailer. The film, which is about Rani Mukerji’s Shibani Shivaji Roy nabbing a cold-blooded and merciless sexual predator, has received good reviews from critics and has been garnering acclaim. Thanks to that, it had turned out to be the highest opener for Rani Mukerji is recent times!
Yes, Mardaani 2 opened to 3.80 crores. But what is interesting to note here is the fact that the morning shows had not received a great response. But looks like good reviews from all over and strong word-of-mouth worked and the film started gaining pace post the afternoon shows.

Mardaani 2 is also Rani Mukerji’s highest opener in recent times. The film has opened to bigger numbers that Mardaani and Hitchki, even though the difference is very little. Mardaani had opened to 3.32 crores while her last film Hichki had collected 3.46 crores on the first day!

Mardaani 2 would definitely pick-up on Saturday and Sunday and the good reviews would propel the collection even further. If the film does manage to collect a decent 15-20 crores by the end of first weekend, it has all the chances of winning the box-office game.
