Roohi Box Office: Film Earns Rs. 3.42 Cr. On Day 3

Rajkummar Rao, Varun Sharma and Janhvi Kapoor starrer horror-comedy is bringing back audiences to the theatres slowly but steadily and paving the road to recovery for Bollywood after a low year. The box office numbers for Day 3 of the film are in and the horror-comedy raked in Rs. 3.42 crores on Saturday showing upward growth thanks to the weekend.
Roohi released on Mahashivratri, a Thursday, and definitely pulled audiences into the theatres especially the multiplexes which have been lying vacant for the considerable part of last year. The movie earned Rs. 3.06 crores on Thursday followed by a dip on Friday with Rs. 2.25 crores. So far Roohi has done a total business of Rs. 8.73 crores and is expected to wrap up the weekend in double digits.

The second film from Dinesh Vijan backed Stree Universe had opened to mixed reviews. It has Janhvi Kapoor play Roohi, a girl possessed by the spirit of Afzana who kidnaps brides on their wedding night. Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma are stranded in a forest with a possessed Roohi.
Roohi’s box office reports are no doubt a keen subject for all filmmakers who prepare to dive headfirst into the post-Covid theatrical experiment after the theatres were allowed to resume business with full occupancy in February.
