Varun Dhawan And Alia Bhatt Set To Extend Their Winning Stint With Sajid Nadiadwala In Kalank

It is a known fact that Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt started their career after being launched by Karan Johar in Student of the Year. Ever since then they have delivered quite a few successes with the filmmaker, and together they have delivered major money spinners with Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania as well as Bardinath Ki Dulhania doing quite well.

Meanwhile, they also have a long standing association with producer Sajid Nadiadwala, something that is expected to continue with Kalank. Though the filmmaker has worked with the two youngsters in many films, this is for the first time ever that the duo would be seen together in a Nadiadwala Grandson film.

"Sajid was the first to bring Alia on board after she was launched by Karan. He gave her Highway, where she played a part altogether opposite to that of Student of the Year. Everyone raved about her realistic performance in the Imtiaz Ali directed film which went on to win quite a few accolades for the young actress. Soon after she was seen in 2 States which was produced by Sajid Nadiadwala as well as Karan Johar. That film went on to enter the 100 Crore Club," comments a prominent distributor.

On the other hand Varun Dhawan has also enjoyed a good partnership so far with Sajid Nadiadwala.

"Varun was brought on board by Sajid in back to back years. First came Dishoom [2016] and that was followed by Judwaa 2 [2017]," an observer says, "In fact Dishoom also saw the return of Rohit Dhawan, Varun Dhawan's brother, as the director. The action comedy was a decent success at the Box Office. It continued to a family affair for Dhawans as Judwaa 2 saw the father-son jodi of David Dhawan and Varun Dhawan reunite with Sajid Nadiadwala for the remake of his own Judwaa which was released back in 1997. It was an emotional moment for all."

Now that Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt are coming together for Kalank, it is an emotional moment again for all involved. The film is produced by both Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala, and the film is acting as just the right platform where everything is practically within a family.

"Both Sajid and Karan believe in the industry being a small family in itself," says a common friend of the two top producers, "They believe in the fact that all relationships are for the keeps, and that's the reason why they love to work with those who have a long standing association with them. Varun and Alia were launched by Karan who has a special affection for them. As for Sajid, he has made quite a few films with Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar, and now in Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt he is finding two youngsters in whom he can invest and deliver."

No wonder, Kalank is turning out to be the hottest film of the season, what with both Karan Johar as well as Sajid Nadiadwala investing their time, money and energy into making this one a must watch film for the big screen. Add to that the fact that Fox Star is putting its muscle into lending a huge release for this multi-starrer and Kalank has everything going in its favor.

Now that the stage has already been set, it is time to see this partnership covering a greater distance once Kalank hits the screens and turns out to be a huge success that it is touted to be.
