Saand Ki Aankh Trailer: The Taapsee-Bhumi Starrer Is About The Shooter Daadis Firing At Patriarchy!

 The trailer of Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Saand Ki Aankh is here and the film is hitting right into the deep rooted patriarchy!

When we think about two sexagenarians turning into the best sharpshooters, we think of what an incredible journey it might have been. But what we do not see is how much of a struggle it could have been for two women to break the shackles of patriarchy and achieve the feat. We do not see how many times they might have been laughed at for their age or how they dress up. We do not look at what they might have to overcome before they can show how incredibly talented they are. Saand Ki Aankh shows the struggle behind the incredible journey of the Shooter Daadis.

The trailer reveals that it was only as an accident that the daadis realised how perfect sharpshooters they are and they undertook coaching for sharpshooting along with their granddaughters. Their aim seems to be just one- to perfect the sharpshooting skills of their granddaughters so that they can get a job.

Taapsee and Bhumi seem to be perfecting their roles as Chandro Tomar and Prakashi Tomar, the two dadis who had not just been immensely talented, but also strong enough to think of a future for their granddaughters where they can live for themselves. They are good with their accent as well and it will definitely be a treat to watch them show their range with this film.

The film also stars Viineet Singh as the coach. He is a natural actor and even though he is a supporting character, you can guess what a powerhouse performance he would deliver through these glimpses!

The film also has Prakash Jha, playing the patriarch!

The film will release on Diwali 2019 and would clash with Rajkummar Rao’s Made In China. The tentative release date for Akshay Kumar starrer multistarrer, Housefull 4, is also Diwali!
