Rajkummar Rao Feels That Trapped Is A Marvelous Flick Which Never Got The Attention It Deserved

Over the last couple of years, Rajkummar Rao has managed to get himself away from the "underated" tag and has established himself in the industry.

His films and characters are finally getting the much deserved acknowledgment and appreciation. He, too has been constantly delivering movies with characters metted with finesse and perfection.

But there's one marvelous flick by Rajkummar which has unofrtunately never got the attention it deserved. Even now, with Rao's performances finally being acknowledgement, this brillant act by him has gone unnoticed.

We are talking about the movie Trapped which got released in the year 2016 but still has its name unknown to many despite its inconventional plot and extraordinary performance by Rao.

Shaurya (Rajkummar Rao) gets locked in a flat situated on the 35th floor of an isolated building in the bustling city of Mumbai for almost a week. Hi situations gets worse with a phone dead and no electricity in a flat running out of even water to drink. What will he do to come out of this entrapment? Or will he die trapped? The film will keep you glued as you see Shaurya’s struggle to survive.

How much is too much when it comes to one’s fight for survive? The film will take you to a roller coaster ride of survival struggle as Shaurya pushes the extremes to get out of the dungeon he has been trapped into. The depiction and his means of survival are so captivating that you will become a part of his struggles without even sensing it. It will feel as if you are right there, enclosed with him, fighting to survive. His fears become your fears, his pains becomes yours and his struggle yours too. There’s a strange sense of pain, fear and discomfort you’ll experience while witnessing ‘Trapped’ that you may have never gone through before.

The plot may seem nonsensical to many but believe me, it is not. There’s nothing extraordinary about his entrapment or the way he got entrapment. The beauty lies in its mundane and ordinary feel. He isn’t trapped in an island far far way or a remote location. Instead, he’s right there in the middle of a city bustling with people always.

The means and ways which Shaurya employs to get out of this trapped condition will leave you awestruck of his presence of mind. While at the same time, you can’t help but feel extremely saddened by his pitiful condition.

Rajkummar Rao has helmed the film like none other. The film with its major part shot in just a single flat relied too much on Rao’s skills and he aced the expectations perfectly. The pain, the struggle and emotions can be read right from his face.

The best part about this Motwane flick is how multiple interpretations can be drawn out of it. It can be seen as a metaphorical take on the entrapment of a man in the shackles of expectations and obligations of society in the maddening race of life.

Its for sure that the movie will remain with the viewer long after watching it.

It's a different kind of cinematic experience which unfortunately never received its much deserved attention and value.
