Freaky Ali v/s Baar Baar Dekho: Who Won The Battle of Friday?

This Friday we saw two medium sized movies going toe to toe at the box-office. In one corner was Salman Khan production Freaky Ali, while on the other was Excel Entertainment's Baar Baar Dekho.

And going by the anticipation of the movies, it was hard to determine which movie would actually do better.

But Friday came, the movies opened in theatres and now we know that one Baar Baar Dekho has minted more bucks. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the Sidharth Malhotra-Katrina Kaif starrer scored over 6 crore at the box-office.

So, that's it?

No. Though, Baar Baar Dekho earned more, it should also be made clear that the movie opened in more screens. And largely because its stars Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra are more marketable stars, the movie's budget is also a lot more.

But who won?

Even though Baar Baar Dekho need to earn more money than Freaky Ali, it is still off to a better start. The film registered a 35-40% occupancy as compared to Freaky Ali's 15%. But the above mentioned points, make it less of  clear success.

Verdict

Baar Baar Dekho won the Friday, but not by a big margin.
