9 Non-Khan Films Since 2000 That Broke The Box Office Record For Highest Opening Day Collection!

One after the other, we have seen box-office records being broken and new ones being created. The latest one to join this list is Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Thugs Of Hindostan that made a record opening day collection of over more than 52 crores!
While this has been a known fact that the Khans have been dominating box-office for a long time, their films create records with holiday releases. But there are also some non-Khan films that had achieved an exception feat and had made a record box-office opening day collection. There are 9 such films since 2000 and here's the list of those films:
2008 had been a year where records were broken and created. Race broke the opening day collection record by grossing 6.32 crores, but it was created a few months later by Akshay Kumar's Singh Is Kingg that grossed almost another 1 crore margin. It grossed 7.24 crores. Its record was broken that year itself by Aamir Khan's Ghajini.
