While some of the big-budget films from major stars flopped, some very small films with good content triumphed at the Indian box-office.
The scene had not been very different overseas as well. Films that did well here in India were the ones that also did well overseas. While there are only 2 films to have gone over 500 crores and 1 that is over 300, the returns have been not that great so far. In fact, now with only Zero and Simmba among the more hyped films, it remains to be seen how much earnings could be made worldwide.
