Mrunal Thakur has been a household name for all the viewers of Tv. Such had become the popularity of Kumkum Bhagya's Bulbul that loved poured in from not just India but even Indonesia, where she has played the 'Nadin' Tara. While Mrunal had been seen in a supporting role in the serial that gave her popularity, she has proved her acting prowess and has been part of not just one but two Hindi films already. While Love Sonia, that also stars Demi Moore, Frieda Pinto, Richa Chadha, Rajkummar Rao, Manoj Bajpai, has been praised in all the film festivals abroad, she will also be seen as the leading lady in Hrithik Roshan's upcoming film, Super 30.

Mrunal Thakur belongs to a Marathi family. She was born in Maharashtra's Nagpur and it was only later that she shifted to Mumbai. She has an elder sister and a younger brother. Her elder sister is already married and has a child. Her nickname is Goli.

Mrunal has dated Sharad Tripathi, who has been associated with shows like Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki and Kasautii Zindagi Kay. They even participated in Nach Baliye Season 7. They lost the reality show though.

She started acting while still in college. She started with the TV industry with the serial, Mujhse Kuchh Kehti...Yeh Khamoshiyaan, opposite Mohit Sehgal. She played the character of Gauri Bhosle. The show aired from 2012 to 2014. She then played the character of a journalist in the TV show, Har Yug Mein Ayega Ek Arjun.
