5 Talented Actors We Sincerely Hope Bollywood Doesn’t Lose To Stereotyping
Updated : March 06, 2019 03:53 PM ISTBollywood sure is one strange place. On one hand there are so many example which re-instates that pure talent surely gets you noticed in Bollywood, on the other hand there are also simply too many examples of people with limited talent making it to the top. While we can still make peace with that, it feels grossly unfair when talented actors do not get their due credit or worse, gets majorly stereod.
Here are some really talented actors of Bollywood who Bollywood is going overboard in stereotyping and we hope we do not lose them to this phenomenon. Here are the ones we are talking about.
Aparshakti Khurrana
While most of you may have not seen his stellar performance in a lesser-known film named Saath Uchhakey, you must remember him from the superhit film Stree. From Stree to Luka Chhupi more recently, Aparshakti has shown that he is made up of some solid substance. Bollywood seriously needs to find better roles for him where he does not play the hero’s funny best friend.
Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub
Once more we see Zeeshan Ayyub playing the smart-mouthed friend of the hero from U.P. we might just totally lose our minds. Time and again, he has proved his mettle even in the small and stereotypical that Bollywood keeps throwing at him and we really, really think he deserves much better.
Swara Bhaskar
This is yet another anomaly that we are not happy about. Even after nailing it in smaller roles in Ranjhnaa and Tanu Weds Manu and totally knocking it out of the park with Anarkali of Aarah, Bollywood can’t think of a better role for Swara other than that of heroine’s best friend with a sassy tongue. Honestly, the only shift Swara has seen in her career is, she has become a rich friend from a cosmopolitan background from the middle class best friend from a small town. Her talents surely warrant better roles and a chance for her to explore her enormous talent.
Deepak Dobriyal
Yet another superb actor who is being reduced to comic relief is Deepak Dobriyal. One needs to watch his performance in films like Omkara and it becomes instantly clear how unfair Bollywood is being to a talent of this actor. Yes, we love him as Pappi Ji, but we would also like to watch him explore bigger thing because he is definitely capable of it.
Shweta Tripathi
Where do I begin? When we write ‘Shweta Tripathi’s character in the film is that of a sweet but slightly rebellious and distinctive young girl from a small town’ , you have no clue which film we are talking about because all her ventures so far have been the same. An actor of her caliber definitely deserves much more.
