Web Series is the medium that is raking up more and more viewers day by day. With the onset of a digital revolution, almost everyone is in possession of a smartphone and the telecom companies are offering data at a dirt cheap rate. This means that new viewers are being added every day who'd like to consume some content. 

Various platforms like Amazon Prime, Netflix and Hotstar along with other apps and sites like youtube, Voot and AltBalaji are coming up with brand new shows every month and these shows are free of the restrictions a primetime TV show faces. The makers and producers can have a free reign which means that there is a freedom of creativity that is otherwise killed by our censor board in films and television.

Anushka Sharma- The actor has already made a name for herself by producing content-driven films and through her own production house, Clean Slate Films, she will be producing a Web Series. She says that it gives an actor and a producer more opportunities in terms of story and creativity. She has also said she won't mind starring in the series as well. 

Rana Daggubati- The Telegu Superstar would be starring in Social, a cybercrime digital show where he would be portraying a character with shades of grey. He has already gained a lot of popularity with the Bahubali saga and people are eagerly awaiting his new avatar.

Saif Ali Khan- The actor would be leading the cast of 'Sacred Games' based on the novel of the same name by Indian author Vikram Chandra's best selling novel. Netflix is co-producing with phantom films.

Rajkummar Rao- The actor would be starring in AltBalaji's show based on famed freedom fighter directed by 'Shahid' director Hansal Mehta. The trailer of the series seems intriguing.

Richa Chaddha- The actress recently appeared in Inside Edge, a thriller drama based on an IPLesq league and the world of crime, politics and entertainment attached to it. The series received good reviews.

Vivek Oberoi- The actor starred as Vikrant Dhawan in Amazon Prime drama Inside Edge and his character won him wide critical acclaim. The actor said that starring in a web series is the best thing as they don't have to deal with Pahlaj Nihalani or CBFC and the series had some real controversial scenes that would have been chopped off if it were a film or TV show.
