8 Bollywood Actors Who Were Targeted With Police Cases For Stupid Reasons

Anyone who is even remotely related to Bollywood is also a soft-target from people who prey upon any mistake from these Bollywood celebs and turn it into a huge controversy for their own benefit. In a country where the judiciary is facing a severe shortage of judges and an ever-increasing number of pending cases, people, think tanks and fringe political outfits and so-called religious groups pile on the backlog by registering cases against celebs for weirdest of reasons.

One has to feel for Bollywood celebs as they are also human and are allowed to make mistakes just like us. It's just that they are always under the spotlight and every action of theirs comes under severe media scrutiny. A number of times, their words are misconstrued as something completely different than what they meant. Their stardom acts as both boon and bane for them. Here are 8 Celebs who were targeted with police cases for stupid reasons:

Salman Khan: The actor hardly gets any respite from court proceedings or police cases. During the promotion of Tiger Zinda Hai, he appeared on a TV show to promote his release and made a comment against a particular community which didn't go down well with some people who thought he had insulted them. Salman had cracked a joke and obviously didn't meant to harm the sentiment of anyone but was slapped with a police case.

Katrina Kaif: Appearing in the same reality show with Salman Khan to promote Tiger Zinda Hai, the actress was also slapped with a police case against her for laughing at the joke cracked by Salman instead of protesting that offensive and insensitive statement. It is implied that as she laughed, she also insulted the community. 

Priya Prakash Varrier: Probably the most viral sensation of 2018 in India, the debutante actress had FIRs lodged against her for her now iconic wink for allegedly hurting the religious statements of the Muslim community. The Supreme Court stayed any further proceedings in this case. 

Rishi Kapoor: The controversial actor constantly finds himself at the receiving end of social media trolls as well as from his fans as well. The actor had an FIR lodged against him for allegedly trimming a tree near his bungalow. The actor later said that his contractor allegedly chopped more portion than required. 

Akshay Kumar: The actor was the brand ambassador of Levis jeans and was also the face of their Live unbuttoned campaign. During one fashion show, he walked up to his wife Twinkle Khanna, who was sitting in the front row and had his jeans unbuttoned which irked many and FIRs were filed against him and his wife for the obscene gesture.

Ranbir Kapoor: The actor was the brand ambassador of Askmebazaar, an e-commerce platform in India and a case was registered against him for the breach of trust and forgery for promoting a website that allegedly robbed the people of their money. 

Farhan Akhtar: The actor was also one of the new brand ambassadors of Askmebazaar and against him, there was also an FIR for the breach of trust and forgery for promoting the website. 

Shah Rukh Khan: The actor has often found himself at the receiving of needless controversies and during the promotion of his 2017 release Raees, there were police cases filed against him for allegedly causing rioting and violence at the railway stations of Kota and Vadodara.
