7 Bollywood Stars Who Turned Writers For Their Own Films!

The actors of our film industry have really opened up to more and more opportunities and do not mind choreographing their own numbers, doing their own stunts, directing their own films, singing their own songs or even writing the scripts for their films. You’ll be surprised to know that so of these Bollywood actors were so passionately into their projects that from the story to the scripts they wrote it all. Take a look at these Bolywood stars who turned script writers for their own movies.
Kalki Koechlin – As an actress she has nailed her performance in every film she has signed but she is even a writer in the closet and put her talent on display when she wrote the script for The Girl In Yellow Boots. Kalki has though sworn never to mix acting with writing even again. The reason you may ask? "I won't ever write and act in the same film because I get so confused with the writer in you saying 'No, it's not correct' and the actor saying something else. It's not good," is what she was quoted saying in an interview with IANS.
Konkana Sen Sharma – After trying her hands at writing for a short film titled Naamkoron, the talented actress invested her writing skills into writing the script for A Death InThe Gunj. The actress even directed the film and won several accolades for the thriller in2016.
Sunny Deol - After the mega success of Ghayal way back in 1990, Sunny Deol came back with Ghayal Once Again in 2016. The actor not only donned the director’s hat for the film, but also indulged in writing the script for it alongside other writers.
Vir Das – The ace comedian and actor Vir Das got inspired to write seeing a 100 year old writer and at the London screening of his film 31st October he declared that he is writing his very first film script. “My company Weirdass Comedy will produce the film and I’m going to act in the same,” he was quoted saying. It is a story of an Indian family that is involved in crime for generations.
Salman Khan – The popular star has a deep dwelling love for art and also for acting. But did you know that he has written stories for films as well? Apart from his mega flop film Veer which he wrote, he had apparently even written the stories for his films, Baaghi: A Rebel For Love and Chandra-Mukhi . If reports are to be believed he will write again for Kick 2.
Kader Khan – Apart from his brilliant acting talent, the veteran actor has also penned down many scripts, some alongside other writers and some by himself. He has written scripts for films like, Aunty No 1, Diya Aur Toofan, Coolie, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Satte Pe Satta, Indrajeet, Agneepath, Lawaaris, Mahaguru, Yaarana and others.
Vineet Kumar Singh: The actor, best known for his performances in Anurag Kashyap's Ugly and Gangs Of Wasseypur, turned a writer for his film Mukkabaaz which he wrote and starred in. Anurag Kashyap directed the film and it received widespread critical acclaim from all the corners. The film is slowly attracting audiences based on good word of mouth.
