5 Bollywood Celebs Who Left The Glamour Industry To Follow The Spiritual Path

Bollywood is not unknown to celebrities who have left the acting world for alternate interests or path no matter how good or bad they have been. While most are quintessential cases of flops in Bollywood who had to look for other career options, there are some actors who suprising dropped it all to walk down the path of spirituality.

The matter is surprising since we are attuned to Bollywood stars being rapt in to glamour of tinsel town and lead a high profile life that is a striking contrast to the life of a saint.

Vinod Khanna – The actor who passed away recently gained popularity as a villain in Bollywood at the start of his career. As fame caught on Vinod Khanna surprisingly left it all after devoting his life to spirituality following the path of Osho. But he later got back to the silver screen and continued the good work.

Anu Aggarwal – The actress caught our attention in the romantic drama Aashuqi and was on her way to making it big in tinsel town. She sadly met with a major accident that turned her life around and post recovery she devoted much of her time to a yogashram.

Sofia Hayat – The model, actress and ex Bigg Boss contestant has maintained a controversial social presence since forever. But the sexy actress decided to devote herself to spirituality and surprised one and all when she became a nun and went by the name of Gaya Mother Sofia. She has now gone back on her spiritual vows and married her Romanian boyfriend.

Barkha Madan – The former Miss India left all glamour aside and found life’s peace as a Buddhist monk. She feels that her life is much better now than ever.

Mamta Kulkari – The super hit 90’s actress’ career was cut short when her name got embroiled in a drug racket and it became a major controversy.  She has now devoted her live to spirituality after being away from the silver screen for all these years.

It’s interesting how glamour allures so many to Bollywood and some of those who find it are not at peace with it.
