With Producers Backing Out, What Will Be The Fate Of Sushant Singh Rajput's Kedarnath?

The film is a love story set against the backdrop of devastating floods of 2013 that washed away everything on its way and killed a large number of people, most of whom were pilgrims and villagers. The film is directed by Abhishek Kapoor who is known for directing acclaimed films like Kai Po Che and Rock On.
Sushant Singh Rajput stars as the 'pitthu', who carries pilgrims to the temple shrine while the film marks the debut of Saif Ali Khan-Amrita Singh's daughter Sara Ali Khan. Ever since the film was announced, there have been huge expectations from it as it marks the debut of one of the most popular star-kids who will star opposite one of the finest young actors in Bollywood. But, a lot of controversies have also surrounded the film and it looks uncertain whether the film will be able to release this year or not.
Here are the major controversies surrounding the film:
Multiple Delays: The film has been plagued with multiple delays since the start. It was earlier supposed to release in July or August this year but later on, the release date was moved to 21st of December where it was clashing with Shah Rukh Khan's Zero. Due to bad weather conditions in Kedarnath, the first schedule of the film took a long time to wrap up and for the flood scenes, a huge set was constructed in Mumbai, which, again took a lot of time.
Producers Backing Out: KriArj Entertainment and T-Series, who were jointly producing the venture with Abhishek Kapoor's production company, backed out of the film over numerous delays and interferences in financial decisions by Abhishek Kapoor. He had already caused a 6-month delay in the film's shoot and now he was making unreasonable demands in the budget and that made the producers leave the film. Now, Kedarnath is indefinitely on hold.
Difficult Director: It is not the first time Abhishek Kapoor has clashed with the producers of Kedarnath. During the start of the film, there were rumours that he had a fight with producers over the budget issues as well as a change of the release date. While the producers wanted to avoid a clash with SRK's Zero, he was adamant to release the film of 21st December. He also had fall-outs with producers, directors and actors like Farhan Akhtar, Apoorva Lakhia, Rekha etc.
Trouble for Sushant's 2018's releases? : Kedarnath was Sushant Singh Rajput's most awaited release of 2018 and now its fate hangs in uncertainty. Chanda Mama Door Ke, which was supposed to be his first release of the year is also incomplete with no release date locked while there has also been no information about the release date of Tarun Mansukhani's Drive. It was also reported that the actor-director had a bitter fall-out during the making of the film.
Sara Ali Khan's 2018 debut? : With an uncertain future ahead, it remains to be seen whether Sara Ali Khan will be able to make her debut in 2018 or not. Her debut was eagerly awaited by the film fraternity as well as the audiences and she hadn't signed any other film as she wanted to complete Kedarnath first and now it will be interesting to see whether she debuts with Kedarnath or some other film.
Though Ekta Kapoor took to Instagram recently and posted a video with the caption that in a few months, audiences will be seeing the film and it seems she wanted to put the rumours to an end.;
