8 Upcoming Sanjay Dutt Films in 2019 - That Prove That He Is Far From Being Over In Bollywood!

Sanjay Dutt is one of the most divisive figures in modern India. While he has hardly been criticised for his job (to act), it's his personal life that has made more news than probably any other actor in the industry.Such is the size of the controversies he has got into that he has had to remind us over and over again that what exactly is his legacy. 

But now as he is finally a free man, we can concentrate on his profession--something we have been really fond off over the years. And it looks like the actor too, after a period of forced hiatus, is coming back to Bollywood in a way.

Here are his upcoming projects:

1. Torbaaz

Based on a story of child suicide bombers in Afghanistan, the actor will play the role of an army officer. The film also stars Nargis Fakhri and Rahul Dev. It is produced by Raju Chadha and Rahul Mittra. It is directed by Girish Malik who directed Jal. The film will release in the second half of 2018.

2. Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3

Sanjay Dutt will be seen in the third film of this series that will be directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. He will be seen alongside Jimmy Shergill, Mahi Gill and Chitrangada Singh. The film will hit the theatres in 2018.

3. Panipat

Sanjay Dutt will be seen in this upcoming period drama that will be directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar. The film will also star Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. The film, based on the Battle of Panipat, will release next year.

4. Shiddat

Sanjay Dutt will be seen in the film that will be produced by Karan Johar. He was signed opposite Sridevi, but due to her untimely death, he will now be seen with Madhuri Dixit. He will play the father of one of the lead characters. The other cast members have not yet been finalised.

5. Shamshera

 Sanjay Dutt will be seen playing the villain opposite Ranbir Kapoor in this Yash Raj decoit drama. The project is pretty exciting and the first look of the film is already out. The film is due to release in 2019.

6. Munna Bhai 3

Rajkummar Hirani has announced the third Munna Bhai film and the excitement of fans has already hit the room. While the movie is still in planning, it is sure that the shelved Munna Bhai Chale America will not be revived.

7. Blockbuster

Sanjay Dutt will be seen in another comedy film called Blockbuster and this time it will be a multi-starrer. The film, which has already gone on floors, will be directed by debutants Ajay Arora and Lovely Arora. Talking about the film, Sanjay had said, "I have always loved doing comedy. It is the genre that makes me feel at home. The scale of Blockbuster is huge and multi-starrers always connect well with audiences." The primary shoot of the film will take place in Mauritius and it will release in 2019.

8. Prasthanam Remake

The 2010 Telugu cult classic Prasthanam is all set to be remade in Bollywood and Sanjay Dutt will play a major role in the film. It will also be produced by the actor and the shoot began on June 1, which is also Sanjay's mother, Nargis' birthday. While Manisha Koirala will play Sanjay's on-screen wife, other cast members include Ali Fazal, Amyra Dastur and Swara Bhaskar!
