Review: Ki And Ka
Updated : April 06, 2016 11:03 AM ISTWe're watching R Balki's much awaited movie, Ki & Ka's special screening for you and here's our review of the first half so far! The movie is based on a man and his wife, where the man is a house husband, by choice! He doesn't take offence in cooking and cleaning while his wife works in the corporate world.
Kareena and Arjun Kapoor starter Ki & Ka is a film which tries to stand out of the routine films which enforce the notion of patriarchy but sadly gives in to the same ideas from a completely other end of the extreme. Arjun Kapoor is doing well, but Kareena can do better. This film is something which should not be taken seriously. It's not meant to challenge anything, just go and have fun. If you are looking for serious cinema, this is not it so far. Just go for light hearted entertainment.
He even wears a mangalsutra, and a complete role reversal has been shown in the movie, where the man of the house happily becomes the house husband. While it is going to be tough for a majority of people in India to digest this story, director R Balki of Paa and Shamitabh fame has attempted something extremely unique. Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan have a special appearance in the film as well. This is Kareena Kapoor's big ticket to steal the thunder of her contemporaries and we think she can do it!
This is what we felt after 30 minutes into the movie.

Arjun Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor aren't that bad together, since we're seeing them as a couple on screen for the first time. For those who like mushy romance, Ki & Ka has it served.
Why is Kareena not doing more films like this we wonder! We're glad she's back!
