Salman Khan is inarguably the biggest star in Bollywood, and maybe even the whole of the country. But while his commercial capability is unquestionable, his acting talent often starts a debate among the movie-going audience.
Starting his career in 1988 with under-the-radar Biwi Ho To Aisi, the actor came to prominence with Sooraj Barjatya's Maine Pyar Kiya and since then has had a rather hit-and-miss career. Sure, there were times when his stardom was sky-high but those phases were flanked by periods of struggle. In 2009, when his career graph was severely under threat, he played a gangster in Prabhu Deva's Wanted and since then has established an unprecedented run, latest of which was last year's Sultan.
But even keeping his uneven commercial performance of his films aside, the measure of his talent has also kept wavering in the eyes of observers. While his natural charisma as an actor been praised, the skill and range of his acting has been questioned.

#6 Hello Brother
A comedic performance gone wrong... Salman Khan tried to do his best to make the audience laugh but failed at his task and the result wasn't pretty, goofy or funny.
#5 Salaam-e-Ishq
Salman Khan is known to have a larger-than-life in persona but n this messy film, this approach made him look completely unauthentic.
#4 Tubelight
While Salman Khan got closest to deliver his career best performance in Kabir Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan, who would have thought the same director would bring out the worst him in. Playing a childlike character Laxman Singh Bisht, Salman could only be a caricature shadow of what was expected.
#3 Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega
One of the worst things for an actor is when he commits to a role but the audiences don't realise. That happened to him in this film starring Rani Mukerji and Preity Zinta.
#2 Main Aur Mrs. Khanna
If being extremely conscious about his presence on screen, the actor also failed to commit to his role in this film starring Kareena Kapoor and Sohail Khan.
#1 Kahin Pyar Na Ho Jaaye
Salman Khan's biggest strength as an actor is his natural charm. And if that is missing, the actor's persona on screen takes a hit. And this happened to be the case in Kahin Pyar Na Ho Jaaye.
