So far, 2018 has been quite an eventful year in Bollywood. There has been no dearth of massive superhits and there has also been quite few number of surprises.
Just like opening day collection, weekend collections and net collection determines the success of a film, occupancy rate is another factor which is important in determining the box-office fate of a film.

Baaghi 2
The Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani starrer which came out on March 30th has not only been one of the most profitable ventures of Bollywood in 2018 so far, but also been the fastest to reach the 100 crore club. On its opening the film registered a major footfall with an occupancy rate of 57.5% which is, by far, the highest in 2018
Padmaavat
Amidst burning controversies and a delayed release when Padmavt finally released on January 25 the many breathed a sigh of relief. It has only been one of the top grossers of the year so far, but with an occupancy rate of nearly 43% it deserves a second spot on this list.
Veere Di Wedding
Heralding the changing ways of cinema amd box-office, this female bonding film starring Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikh Talsania in lead has managed to do a roaring business at the box-office from its opening itself day. Coming third on this list, the film had an occupancy rate of 32.5%.
Raazi
Looks like women lead films re the flavour of the season. Coming fourth on this list is Alia Bhatt’s Raazi which has been having a surprising run at the box-office given its niche genre. Coming in at number four, Raazi had an occupancy rate of 30%.
Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety
One of 2018’s biggest surprises, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety has not only been mssive hit but has also catapulted lead Kartik Aaryan into superstardom. The film’s exceptional success story is also cemented by the fact that with 27.5% occupancy rate, this movie has landed a spot in the top 5 films of 2018 depending on their occupancy rate.
