The debate between what works in Bollywood is a never-ending one. While some loyalists would say that sticking to formulas works, there are many who argues in the favor of experimentation.

While there are directors who generally shine in one genre, they do not necessarily get stuck with the same tropes. On the other hand, there are directors who essentially end up making the same film with the same elements over and over again, even if they are in different genres. So we get it that you are enamored with men in uniform. Honestly, so are we, but that does not mean from 1997 to 2018 that was the only genre you could come up with. Ok, we give you Umraao Jaan, but L.O.C. Kargil was about 4 hours long, there was nothing new left about the army that the movie did not deal with. You could have seriously spared us from Paltan.

Yes, he is a dancer like no other and yes, Wanted was actually fun to watch. But after that, Prabhudeva has been recycling the same thing again and again. In every movie, there is a gooooood hero and a baaaaad villain, and after romancing the heroine and throwing a few punches, the hero defeats the villain. Like seriously, what the heck was Action Jackson and Singhh Is Bling!

There, we said it. We are not saying that we do not love his films or his brands of Sufiyana romance, but he seriously needs to offer more than. Broken man-children on a journey discovery peppered with gorgeous locations and soulful music can be used only a finite number of times.

Just like their white clothes, they are very attached to the same narrative and style they use in every film of theirs. Good looking people, in gorgeous clothes and locale with hi-tech gadgets pulling off scams that run into million as everyone double crosses everyone was fun the first few times around. Now it just feels boring and dated.
