Sridevi was the reigning queen of Bollywood in 80s and early 90s without a shadow of doubt. There was not a single director or actor who did not want to work with her and thus the first female superstar of India was kept super busy. However, there were also a few projects that never saw the light of the day of she was a part of. Here are 5 projects of Sridevi that were shelved and you had no idea about.

 Garajna

Directed by K.R. Reddy, the film was to unite the super hit cast of Chandni, Sridevi, Rishi Kapoor and Vinod Khanna. Even the trailer was released and shooting stills of the same are also available. However, the project was later shelved due to payment issues with stars with the producer.

Zameen

This project was announced by the ace director Ramesh Sippy in 1988 and starred Vinod Khanna, Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit in lead roles. However, even after shooting a sizeable chunk of the film, the film never saw the light of the day.

Maharaja

Director Anil Sharma announced the film Maharaja in 1990 with Anil Kapoor and Sridevi in the lead. However, the film ran into some casting issues and was shelved. Years later,in 1998, although Anil Sharma made a film with the same name but it was an entirely different story and casted Govinda and Manisha Koirala in the lead roles.

Govinda

According to an interview given by Anil Kapoor in 1996, Sridevi and him were to be casted in a film named Govinda. He even talked about doing a photo shoot for the film with her. But then the film got shelved due to unknown reasons, and the pair was finally casted together in Mr. India and the rest, as they say, was history.

Teerandaz

The film was to be directed by Chandni’s cinematographer Manmohan Singh, and had Sridevi and Sunny Deol in the lead cast. The mahurat of the film was also conducted and Yash Chopra even did the first clap for the film. But somehow, the film never got made.
