SOTY 2 Hook Up Song: Despite The Odd Chemistry Between Tiger And Alia, The Peppy Number Might Be A Hit On The Dance Floors

The new song from Student of The Year 2 just dropped and we could not be more excited. The song named ‘Hook Up Song’ features Tiger Shroff with a very special appearance by Alia Bhatt. The song has been composed by the music director duo Vishal-Shekhar and has been sung by Shekhar Ravijani and Neha Kakkar.

Directed by Punit Malhotra, Student Of The Year 2 is a sequel of 2012 hit Student of The Year that launched Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Siddharth Malhotra into Bollywood. This film is also going to be the launch pad for Ananya Pandey and Tara Sutaria and will hit the theatres on May 10^th.

Catchy Tune

The song composed by Vishal-Shekhar has the signature peppiness to it that they are known for. It is fun and upbeat and good for shaking a leg on the dance floor. The hook of the song is actually pretty catchy and there is a good chance we will be hearing a lot of it in the clubs and dance floor in the coming months.

Cool Choreography

Any dance number featuring Tiger Shroff is sure to have some killer moves and this one is not an exception. While Tiger and his shiny abs are phenomenal as usual, Alia is doing a great job of matching steps with him. After her kathak in Kalank, this is another testament to Alia’s skills. No matter what, Alia is sure to slay.

Juvenile Lyrics

Bollywood has a way of coming up with weird lyrics whenever they try to get the millennial lingo right. In Mumbai Dilli Di Kudiyaan it was ‘Disco disco disco, jaise paani pyaar hai ho fish ko’ and here its ‘Khud ko samajh ke lucky hook up tu mujhse kar lena.’ Does Bollywood really think that this is how millennials talk or these are the things we prioritize?

Odd Chemistry

Individually, Tiger and Alia, or #talia as they are calling them, are literally setting the screen on fire.  However, despite all the steaminess in the opening scene of the song, their chemistry seems odd. Their choreography is perfectly in sync with each other, but somehow there is something odd about their chemistry. Honestly, we do not believe they are going to hook up!

Alia In Shanaya Zone

It is cool to see Alia in a peppy dance number after a while and it is not every day we get to see her in a sexy avatar. In fact, the song reminded us of Alia from the first Student Of The Year where she was introduced with a reworked version of Gulaabi Aankhein. It is kinda heart-warming to see how far she has come!
