#1YearOfKalank: Movie Buffs Realize A Year Too Late That Varun-Alia’s Mega Flop Was Actually A Good Film
Kalank: Fans Realize A Year Too Late That It Was A Good Film
Updated : April 17, 2020 01:28 PM ISTAlia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan make a wonderful pair and each time they work together, they create magic on the big screen. So when Karan Johar revealed that the two will collaborate once again for Kalank, fans naturally expected it to be a super hit. Sadly, when the film finally hit theatres it did not get the reception that the makers expected. Featuring an ensemble cast of talented actors including Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt, the period drama turned out to be a huge dud and reportedly became the first big failure of Varun’s career.
While critics lauded the actors for their powerful performances, the script didn’t seem to impress viewers and the sets seemed ‘larger than life’ to many. In fact, social media was flooded with memes and netizens brutally trolled the film back then. However, as Kalank clocks in one year today, fans are realizing that it is actually a good movie. While some shared posts praising the visual effects, others feel that the dialogues were penned beautifully. In fact, many are calling Zafar the ‘hottest’ character portrayed by Varun ever! Take a look:

Her wistful gaze and classical deposition picks the sur of its over the top world, blends in it, dances with it. @rediffmovies #1YearOfKalank #MadhuriDixit ?#AdityaRoyKapoor ? pic.twitter.com/orYfL0cm7Q

While we don’t understand the sudden change of heart towards the film, it’s good to see that different aspects and the hard work put into making Kalank are being appreciated by the audience. As they say, better late than never! Have you watched the period drama yet?
