Updated : May 26, 2020 12:08 PM ISTAmid the coronavirus lockdown, there are no shoots happening. All the upcoming film releases have been stalled. The theatres are not functioning. The entertainment industry is currently bearing losses that amount to crores of rupees.
Earlier, there were reports about how a few film-sets and sets constructed for the photo of some of the web series will also be demolished. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi’s set that was built to replicate Kamathipura was speculated to be demolished and thereafter, there were reports about the Farhan Akhtar-Ritesh Sidhwani’s web series Dongri to Dubai sets were also being speculated to be demolished and now, the latest is, Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chillar starrer Prithviraj set will also be demolished due to the monsoon scare.
The set is actually that of a palace. A source has been quoted by Mid-day as saying, "The head honchos of Yash Raj Films had kept the set standing over the past two months, hoping that the situation would improve soon. However, with the rains only weeks away, it doesn't seem feasible to retain the set any longer. The makers are currently procuring necessary permission to pull it down. Akshay had filmed a major portion of the Chandraprakash Diwedi directed drama at the Dahisar set before the lockdown was announced, but some crucial sequences have yet to be shot."
60 percent of the shoot has already been done. The report has also quoted a Yash Raj spokesperson as saying, “the set will now be put up indoors once shooting resumes."
Prithviraj is based on the life of Prithviraj Chauhan and Samyukta. Besides, Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chillar, the film also stars Sonu Sood, Sakshi Tanwar, Sanjay Dutt, Ashutosh Rana and Manaj Vij.
