Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo remake: Manisha Koirala to step into Tabu's shoes in the Kartik Aaryan-Kriti Sanon starrer?

It has been quite some time since makers have revealed their plans to go forward with the official Hindi remake of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. The film would reportedly have Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon play the lead. And now, looks like the makers have zeroed in on another cast member.

If a report in Bollywood Hungama is to be believed, then Manisha Koirala has been roped in to reprise Tabu's role. A source told the portal, "Kriti has been finalised to essay Pooja Hegde's part from the original. But the makers were dilly-dallying about whom to approach to play Kartik's mother in the film. Initially, the team wanted to retain Tabu in the remake as well but since she and Kartik have already done a film together (Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2), they wanted to look out for another actor."

And that is when they thought of Manisha Koirala. The same source added, "Manisha will step into Tabu's shoes from the original for the remake. She will be playing the role of Kartik's mother in the film. The team has also locked her modalities and the film is expected to roll on the floors this year itself. Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo will be eyeing a festive release date in 2022."

Wow, we are eagerly waiting for the film! The 2020 original starred Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde in the lead.
