Alia Bhatt Reaches Hospital On Learning About Rishi’s Demise; Stayed By Ranbir’s Side Throughout His Dad’s Illness

Just yesterday, the Indian cinema lost Irrfan Khan, one of the finest actors we had ever seen. And even before we could get over the loss, we got to know that Rishi Kapoor breathed his last today. He was taken to the H N Reliance hospital this morning and his brother Randhir had shared that the situation is stable. But a little while later Amitabh Bachchan took to his social media handle to share that he is gone and soon the family shared an official statement. While other celebs expressed their grief through heartbreaking posts, Ranbir Kapoor’s girlfriend Alia Bhatt rushed to the hospital to be by his side in this terrible time.

The veteran actor was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 after which he underwent treatment in US for 11 long months. During this time, his wife Neetu Kapoor stayed by his side like a pillar of strength while their children Riddhima and Ranbir, along with Alia, travelled back and forth due to work commitments. A source close to the couple told TOI, “Ranbir is a recluse. He isn’t very expressive unless he’s with his mom or someone very close to him. With Alia he could just be himself. And she also offered him all the support to deal with his dad’s illness as any girlfriend would.”

During the last three weeks, Alia stayed by Ranbir’s side and didn’t leave him for even one moment. Chintu ji was also very fond of the actress and her warmth and energy cheered him up. The source further shared that the couple got Rishi’s blessings which meant the world to Ranbir. While they shared the perfect father-son relationship, Ranbir and Rishi came even closer together over the last two years.
