Updated : May 02, 2020 05:12 PM ISTIrrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor were two wonderful actors who passed away on the 29th and 30th of April respectively. It was a shock to all and sundry. So many had idolised them and loved them for their onscreen roles. Bollywood witnessed the end of an era with the death of these two huge personalities.
Almost everyone in Tinseltown took to their official Instagram page to express their sorrow and bereavement. Amitabh Bachchan too took to his official Instagram account to share his ‘grief.’ Big B in his post tried to shed light on "the death of an elder celebrity vs death of a younger one" and why the death of a younger celebrity is more "tragic."
Well, according to the actor, it is because there are a lot of “unrealised opportunities.” He shared a collage of pictures on his Instagram account and wrote, “The death of an elder celebrity vs death of a younger .. the grief of the latter more intense than that of the former .. why ..? The younger more tragic. Why the loss of the young seems more tragic than that of the older .. Because you lament the loss of opportunity in the latter .. unrealised possibilities”.
Take a look –
For the uninitiated, Bachchan worked with both Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor. With Rishi, he starred in several hit films like Amar Akbar Anthony, Naseeb, Coolie and most recently 102 Not Out. Recently, the actor wrote a eulogy on why he never visited Rishi in the hospital. "I never visited him in hospital, I never wanted to see distress on his smiling cherubic face. But I am certain, when he went, he must have gone with a gentle smile."
The country lost Rishi Kapoor to cancer at the age of 67.
Mr Bachchan also worked with actor Irrfan Khan in Piku which also starred Deepika Padukone in one of the main roles. The veteran also paid his tribute to Khan. He wrote, "Just getting news of the passing of Irfaan Khan. This is a most disturbing and sad news... An incredible talent... A gracious colleague, a prolific contributor to the world of cinema. Left us too soon. Creating a huge vacuum. Prayers and duas."
Irrfan died at 53, he succumbed to neuroendocrine cancer and was cremated at the Versova Kabrastan in Mumbai.
