The Dadasaheb Phalke award is given in the memory of Dada Saheb Phalke who made India's first full-length feature film, Raja Harishchandra in 1913 and is often considered the 'father of Indian cinema'. It has earlier been awarded to Shashi Kapoor, Dev Anand, Lata Mangeshkar and Yash Chopra among others!
