Arjun To Star In Film On Muzaffarpur Shelter Abuse?
Updated : August 31, 2020 07:56 PM ISTShah Rukh Khan’s Red Chilies Entertainment has been winning over the audiences with any and all the content they have been producing lately. Right from Bobby Deol starrer Class of '83 which was trending on Netflix for two weeks straight to Sanjay Mishra starrer Kamyaab, SRK productions are earning accolades everywhere.
The production house was also in the news for working on a film based on the shocking Muzaffarpur shelter mass abuse case of 2018 and now Bollywood Hungama has reported that actor Arjun Kapoor is in the running for the lead role. A source told the portal, “The talks have been going on with him since some time. If Arjun bags the part, he’ll play the lead role of the cop investigating the case. It’s a well-written and well fleshed out part and the team at Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment feel that Arjun is apt for the role.”
If things are okay, this will also be the first collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Arjun Kapoor. The film is being reported to be directed by Pulkit who had earlier directed the acclaimed series Bose: Dead/Alive, starring Rajkummar Rao as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
It will be based on the Muzaffarur Shelter Abuse case of 2018, where 34 of the 42 inmates residing in the shelter were found to be sexually abused. In ‘20 the Delhi High Court sentenced the head of this NGO Brajesh Thakur to rigorous life imprisonment
