Twitter Mourns The Death Of Basu Chatterjee
Updated : June 04, 2020 03:24 PM ISTOne of the best filmmakers of Bollywood Mr Basu Chattterjee breathed his last today. The ace director was 93 years old. In an interaction with PTI, Ashoke Pandit, president Indian Film and Television Producers’ Association stated that the filmmaker passed away due to old age-related complications and that his cremation will take place in the Santacruz crematorium in Mumbai.
As soon as the news of Chatterjee’’s demise came out, Twitter flooded with instant reaction. Celebrities from all walks of life poured in their grief and expressed condolences on the micro-blogging platform.
Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi took to twitter to express his grief for the passing away of the filmmaker too. He wrote, “Sad to hear of the demise of Shri Basu Chatterjee. His works are brilliant and sensitive. It touched people's hearts and represented simple and complex emotions, as well as struggles of people. Condolences to his family and innumerable fans.
