Batman Forever Director Joel Schumacher Passes Away at 80

Joel Schumacher passed away on Monday in New York City. The filmmaker was fighting cancer since the past year. He was 80 years old. Schumacher was well-known for directing St. Elmo’s Fire, The Lost Boys, Falling Down and two Batman films.

Schumacher started off his career as a costume designer and he put his fashion sense to good use especially when it came to stylisng his films all through the 80s and the 90s. Those films did not always get critical acclaim but they were loved by audiences for beautifully capturing the feel of that era.
