Nothing is functional as of now and the top producers and directors are looking at releasing their films on OTT platforms. It is after 19th March ’20 that the Indian entertainment industry has literally gone into shambles.
T-series baron Bhushan Kumar too, had a number of films lined up which were scheduled to release this year and more than 6 films that were ready to begin their schedules. The sequel of the John Abraham starrer Satyamev Jayate was supposed to begin last month in Mumbai. Bhuj: The Pride Of India too was scheduled to wrap up its last schedule.
Bhushan admitted to Mumbai Mirror that it was indeed a financial blow, but then, the whole world is suffering and that they were lucky because they do not avail bank loans which is why the interest is not mounting. He went on to further state, at this point in time no one knows when will this crisis end. He further admitted in the same report, even after normalcy, no one knows when the audiences will against start flocking to the theatres to watch films because of the coronavirus scare.
In the same interview he went on to further reveal, 10 days of work remain on Bhuj and that it will be completed once the shooting begins but he also expressed doubts on whether they will be able to release the film on the 15th of August, ‘20.
He also shed light on how they are planning to make a sequel to the Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer De De Pyaar De. He told Mumbai Mirror, “Yes, Luv Ranjan and I have a sequel in mind for De De Pyaar De”, He went on to share another remake that is in the pipeline, “We are definitely doing Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety 2, it’s a great franchise to take forward..”
