Recently, CINTAA or the Cine and TV Artistes Association expressed their concern about the on-going Tanushree Dutta controversy and said they regret the way her case was dealt with but cannot reopen the case.

Apart from CINTAA, there are a couple of others regulatory bodies that control the inner workings of the showbiz industry but rarely do they take drastic measures like banning a celebrity from working in the industry. Here are the rare cases in which they actually did impose a ban on the celebrities.

Shakti Kapoor

After his infamous casting couch scandal, Shakti Kapoor was banned by Film & Television Producers Guild of India. However, after a few years, the ban was lifted and he was allowed to work in films.

Shilpa Shinde

Following her unceremonious departure from her hit TV Show, Shilpa Shinde was banned by CINTAA citing unprofessionalism as the reason. It was all the more shocking given she was elected as an Executive Member of the committee just a few months before her ban.

Baba Ram Rahim Singh

Controversial godman turned Bollywood star who made films like MSG: Messenger of God and Love Charger was also banned by CINTAA after criminal charges of rape and fraud were brought against him.
