Based on John Green's 2012 novel The Fault in Our Stars, Dil Bechara not only marks Sushant’s final film but is also Mukesh’s directorial debut and Sanjana Sanghi’s very first lead role in a Bollywood film. The coming-of-age romantic drama was initially scheduled to hit theatres on 8th May, however the date got indefinitely pushed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Makers later decided to make the film available to the audience for free on the OTT platform.
