Drishyam 2 Makers Run Into A Legal Soup
Updated : May 05, 2021 08:38 AM ISTIt was just yesterday that the Hindi remake of Drishyam 2 was announced. The remake rights have been acquired by Kumar Mangat and Panorama Studios. Now, it looks like the film has already landed in a legal soup.
A case has been filed against the makers by none other than Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. It was the same banner that had produced the Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran and Ishita Dutta starrer first part and they have claimed that the rights of the film belong to them as well. A source told ETimes, "Viacom 18 Motion Pictures have told Mangat that they cannot be dissociated from this project. They have also told him that he cannot make 'Drishyam 2' on his own or with someone else. The very fact that Mangat yet went ahead to set up the stage for it has irked them and hence, they've filed a legal complaint against him. The first hearing of the case in question is going to be held, very soon."

Well, Mangat clarified that he is going to make the second part of the remake with Panorama Pictures. However, he did not shed enough light on what action he will take next.
