Aasif Feels Lockdown Has Made Him More Independent
Updated : August 14, 2020 12:01 PM IST15th August, ’20 marks the 74th Independence Day of India. Like the rest of the country, the TV actors too are very pepped up about the big day this year. As the country wreathes in the lockdown, the TV industry has begun shooting and some TV shows have also started airing fresh episodes. &TV’s Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai too began shooting.
We exclusively got in touch with actor Aasif Sheikh who spoke to us at length about what he feels Independence Day really signifies.
Aasif thinks, the lockdown has given him a fresh perspective on freedom and that while being confined to the four walls of his house, he realised, contrary to what he believed, he had a shackled existence in reality, he tells us, "Lockdown has taught me the real meaning of freedom! It is in these trying times that I understood I wasn’t independent at all as opposed to what I felt about myself all these years.”
Aasif went on to say that it was due to this lockdown he got to live the essence of freedom and learned how he could exist without being dependant on anyone, “However, after a lot of internal and external hurdles I finally learnt that independence comes when you don’t have to depend on anyone. I was completely dependent upon my wife for the basics such as food, so how could I consider myself independent? Finally, in these months I learnt via the help of my wife and kids to do plenty of household chores, the basics which everyone irrespective of whether a man or a woman should know. I have become much more self-reliant and I feel happy from within. Happy Independence Day to one and all!" he concluded.
