Exclusive: Ssudeep Sahir Reminisces He Didn't Want To Star In His Claim To Fame Music Video Channa Ve, Did It To Pay Rent
Sudeep Reveals He Didn't Want To Do Channa Ve
Updated : August 30, 2020 12:58 PM ISTEver since the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the nepotism and favouritism debate has taken massive proportions on social media. People are now more aware of these terms than they ever were.
Actor Ssudeep Sahir who has been a prominent face on television and will next be seen playing father to a grown-up son on Sony Sab TV's Tera Yaar Hoon Main considers himself to be lucky that his hard work earned him the happy space he is in personally and professionally. He feels success and failure depends on providence. We wanted to know from Ssudeep whether he has ever faced a situation where he lost work for being an outsider, he told us, “I believe if you have got the talent nobody can stop you and if it has been given to you by destiny, you will surely get it. You have to work hard for that. If I am auditioning for something, if the role is meant for me, no matter who comes it will come to me and then I have to put in my hundred percent. That’s what I do which is why I am in a very happy space today”
The TV actor went on to state that TV unlike films is welcoming to the outsiders, “Television has been welcoming. Things are not this way in the television scenario. If you are good and you work hard, you will get it. That’s how television has given me so much. I haven’t faced any nepotism here. I also believe, that if I am good, they will cast me and yet if they don’t it is their loss.”
Ssudeep further reminisced about the 2005 superhit song Channa Ve which was crooned by Kunal Ganjawala and revealed that even though he didn’t want to do that song, he is happy that he did it because that song became a milestone of sorts, “Today when I look back, I feel really glad I did Channa Ve. I wasn’t going to do that song because I wasn’t the hero per se. When the story was narrated, it was the other guy who was the hero of the song and the song is based on him, I was just singing. I told myself, ‘what the heck, let's do the song, it sounds good, I could probably get some money and pay off my rent’ so I just did it and I am glad I did it, it really worked for me and when I look back I feel really fortunate that I did what I got because that is why I stand here right now,” he concluded.
Sony SAB's slice of life comedy show Tera Yaar Hoon Main (तेरा यार हूँ मैं) is produced by Sumeet Mittal under the banner of Shashi Sumeet Productions.
