Exclusive: Vikrant Massey remembers the time he gave a romantic cabbage shaped card to a girl

Vikrant Massey and Kriti Kharbanda are sharing the screen for the very first time in Devanshu Singh’s film 14 Phere, which released today. While Vikrant has played the role of Sanjay Lal Singh, a Rajput from Bihar, Kriti has portrayed the character of his college senior and girlfriend Aditi Karwasra, a Jat from Jaipur. The film focuses on how they lie to their families, who are against inter-caste marriages, to end up together. Well during an exclusive interview with Desimartini ahead of the film’s premiere, we discussed a pick up line that Vikrant used on Kriti in a college sequence. He says, “Waise hum nahi chahte ki mera beta bada hoke tumhaari beti pe line mare. Toh kyun naa dono bhai behen ho? (I don’t want my son to grow up and hit on your daughter. So why not make them siblings?)”

When asked what is the cheesiest, quirkiest pick-up line that they have ever heard or used in real life, Vikrant replied, “Yaar maine use toh nahi kiya hai but maine ek bohot hi stupid sa card diya tha kisiko, mujhe yaad aaya yeh. Main school mein tha, mujhe yaad hai, main 8^th mein tha, senior hi thi ladki ek saal badi thi. Maine unko Archies se ek card leke diya tha. Bohot besti hogi (smiles), sunlo lekin. It was in the shape of a cabbage, patta gobhi. My love is like a cabbage, usko kholo, the leaves are for others, kholo, but the heart is for you. Uss ladki ne usko turrant phaad ke kachre ke dibbe mein phenk diya tha (I haven't used such a pick-up line but I remember I gave a very stupid card to someone. I was in school, in 8th, and the girl was my senior, a year older to me. I got her a card from Archies. This is embarrassing, but listen. It was in the shape of a cabbage and said "My love is like a cabbage", open the card, "the leaves are for others", open it further, "but the heart is for you". That girl tore it right then and threw it in the dustbin.).”

As he laughed, Vikrant went on to share that it broke his confidence. When Kriti asked if that was the only card he could find in the store, he explained that he thought it would have been funny.
