From Being A Lover Boy To A 'Sarkaari' Officer To A Ghostbuster, Kartik Aaryan Is Playing It All
Kartik Aaryan's Has Four Promising Film Lined Up
Updated : September 11, 2019 05:16 PM ISTNo more a 'Punchnama' boy, Kartik Aaryan is indeed evolving further as an actor with every passing film. If his choice of films for 2019-20 is anything to go by, the youngster is pretty much experimenting across varies characters while keeping an eye on his set audiences, especially amongst youth.
While he played a reporter in his last release Luka Chuppi where he gets into a forced live-in relationship with his girlfriend, he was showing to be vouching for marriage. Now that was a trait which was diametrically opposite to the kind of characters that he had played in his earlier three successes - Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety.
His next four films are Pati Patni aur Woh, Aaj Kal, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Dostana 2, and Kartik would be seen in a different avatar each time around. Let's take a look:
Pati Patni aur Woh
This time around, he is playing a 'sarkaari' officer in the film. He is enacting two characters in fact. One is that of a mustached simpleton with oiled hair no less who is dedicated to his wife [Bhumi Pednekar]. However, his heart also beats for his office co-worker Ananya Pandey, who enacts the part of a hottie. With her, he turns into a chocolate (lover) boy, hence bringing to fore a different facet of his personality.
Aaj Kal
Yet again, there are twin roles that Kartik Aaryan is playing and that is for Imtiaz Ali's romantic musical drama. One of the characters played by him is a simpleton with heart full of love. On the other hand he also plays a school boy no less, and the stills from the film which are floating around have anyways resulted in good curiosity. Moreover, he has real life girlfriend Sara Ali Khan as his leading lady in this Imtiaz Ali love story which is taking forward the virtue of love and romance after Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty's Love Aaj Kal.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2
Stepping into the shoes of Akshay Kumar is a big deal indeed and for that Kartik Aaryan has a big responsibility up his sleeves. In Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, he is playing a ghostbuster and this is a kind of character which doesn't have much of precedence. In fact a couple of other big horror comedies, Stree and Golmaal Again, didn't really have a ghostbuster angle either, which means Kartik Aaryan would have to take forward from what was seen in the first part featuring Akshay Kumar. With him bringing on the Gen. X element, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 should be special.
Dostana 2
Dostana had John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan fake being gays in order to get a rented accommodation with Priyanka Chopra. In Dostana 2 though, the stakes are much higher as Kartik Aaryan is reportedly playing a real gay in the film and he along with his sibling (played by Janhvi Kapoor) fall in love with the same guy (newcomer Lakshya). While gay characters in Bollywood have typically been accused of taking a stereotypical route, Kartik is expected to bring in something novel and exciting in this Karan Johar production which is much awaited already.
